One thing that is probably more important than ever is to get your credit rating in order - certainly if you're thinking about putting a major purchase on a card - the Free Experian Credit Report is never a bad idea.

Credit cards - I didn't think I'd be saying this in a hurry, but the HBOS Credit Card has risen to the top of the overall pile in recent weeks and is worth checking out for terms, and transfers.

So utility prices, gas, electricity, and no doubt broadband as well went up around 30% last year and looks they're going up this year as well (horrific) - we can wait for the Government's windfall taxes to kick in, or we could get smart and check out our options for switching supplier - the main thing is to be on a new deal, always better than being an old customer.
